You wouldn't think it possible, but I am more excited than ever before about this year's WBT Producer 2001 Conference & Expo. I've been to all the WBT Producer shows from the very beginning, but this year I'm presenting a full-day advanced pre-con, two breakout sessions, and serving as Master of Ceremonies for the larger events.

The WBT Producer Conference has always been my favorite because it's the only show that has both the big picture stuff from industry luminaries such as Gloria Gery, Allison Rossett, Brandon Hall, and William Horton, as well as the practical how-to advice from people (like me!) actually making and managing online learning. For example, in my pre-con this year, I'm doing an advanced session taking a custom WBT project from initial design to finished interactions. This is the kind of thing I love writing about in my column in Online Learning magazine, but at the show we'll actually get to DO it hands-on.

I love that this learning event is unashamedly focused on WBT. When I go to the huge mega training shows, all the online learning stuff is crammed in between people selling flip-charts and "clown-trainers" showing how to inject humor into presentations. This conference is, as they say, "nothing but Net." At my new company, BlueMissile, we chose WBT Producer 2001 to launch our new WBT templates because I knew the people here would be completely focused on e-Learning and only e-Learning. I only wish I had finished my new book in time for the show....
